Essendon 'Tigers' play in a local Hertfordshire league against other clubs,
home and away. It is for male members playing off a HI of 5 -9.

Teams are made up of 8 players with 4 games played as 4bbb format
using the appropriate handicap allowances.

Tee off times are weekdays and usually around 1.30pm, although this does vary.

After golf, teams usually meet at the 19th hole for a light meal
and to discuss the day's golf.

Currently there are no fixtures set for season 2021 due to the
uncertainty of Covid restrictions.

Foxes is for men members with a handicap in the range 8.5 to 17.4
(which roughly equates to 10-18 prior to the WHS).

Teams are made up of 8 players and matches are 4 games of 4 ball better ball pairs match play.

Matches are played during the week starting about 2.30pm with a 2 course meal
after which everyone is expected to stay.

There are currently 3 leagues with 5 teams in each league played on a home and away
basis followed by a KO system to come up with an overall winner. 

We currently have a full fixture list for 2021. If you are interested you can enter
your availability using this site, if you have any problems entering your availability
or want to discuss how the league works please contact George Campbell.

Male Members over 55 are eligible for the Seniors Squad.  Handicap Index limit 25.0.

These are friendly games played home and away generally in teams of 16 (exception is Porters Park
with teams of 12).  Games are played as 4BBB with appropriate handicap allowances.

Home matches are on Monday; away match days can vary.  We meet for coffee beforehand
and typically tee off from a two-tee start at 08.30 although this can vary.  After the match there
is a two course lunch at which all team members are expected to attend.  The cost is the same for both home and away games and will be confirmed for the year.

Teams are selected by the Seniors' Captain.  For 2021 this is Shanker Modha,

All Full Junior members at Essendon are eligible for the Hawks Junior Team
that takes part in Hertfordshire Golf events.

The Hertfordshire Junior Golf League matches consist of teams of 6, with 3 pairs each
playing 4 ball better ball matchplay. The Ver League is currently under review, but in past years
has been played as a knockout event with teams of 7 playing singles matches.

Home and away matches take place at weekends or during school holidays from April to September
with a Finals Day in the October half-term break. There is no cost to participants and a light meal is usually provided following play, so it's a great way to make new friends and to experience other courses.

Participation is encouraged, with the ethos at Essendon being that of inclusivity -
all who want to play will be given the opportunity wherever possible.
