Essendon’s friendly, knowledgeable and experienced team of Professionals are here to offer you a service unmatched anywhere in the county. The team will help you develop every aspect of your game - whether it be a putting lesson, video analysis, on-course coaching or developing a detailed practice plan, one of our PGA Professionals will be able to facilitate your needs.

Barry has recently joined the team with over 20 years coaching experience, and after spending the last 10 years as a Head PGA Professional running his own Retail, Custom Fit and Coaching Business.

Alongside helping Essendon to create a first class Retail and Custom Fit offering, Barry has a huge passion for coaching. In his time in the industry, he's been fortunate to shadow and work with some excellent people in the world of golf. Most recently he was involved in the first season of the Slingsby Academy, teaching pop star and radio host Fleur East to play golf.

Through plenty of training and research, Barry has used his certifications with the PGA, Titleist Performance Institute, Foresight Sports and The Golf Lab, to formulate a philosophy on connecting the golf swing, the body and your golf equipment.

Aside from being a golf geek, Barry enjoys spending his spare time with his family.

Matt has been coaching since 2009, during which time he has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from various top coaches around the world. He has worked with some elite players including College golfers, England National players and an English Women's Amateur Champion.

Matt specialises in creating personalised performance programmes for all levels of golfer, which includes full support outside of your lesson time. This is ideal for golfers who have a real desire to shoot lower scores and want a coach in their pocket at all times, rather than a one-off quick fix.

Dan has been in the golf industry for over 12 years. During this time he has achieved a national diploma in golfing excellence and PGA degree from The University of Birmingham.

He has enjoyed positions at some of the finest courses Hertfordshire has to offer, including Verulam, Moor Park and South Herts Golf Club. His passion for coaching has brought him to Essendon where he is able to help, inspire, improve and develop all standards of golfer from complete beginner to scratch handicap. Dan is also responsible for running the Adult Academy at Essendon, one of the county’s largest and most successful Academies.

Prior to starting at Essendon in 2015, Freddie studied Sports Science at The University of Hertfordshire and at a Division 1 college in South Carolina, USA.

After turning professional with a +2 handicap, Freddie worked closely with a number of top European and PGA Tour Coaches to help broaden his knowledge of the game. His focus at the club is now to pass on this knowledge to juniors, with the goal of helping them achieve their playing aspirations.

Freddie is also a coach to the Hertfordshire County Boys Academy and the Haileybury school team.

Kyle joined the Professional Team at Essendon in 2020. He’s currently undergoing his training for his PGA Professional Golf qualification and quickly building his skills and knowledge in the industry. Kyle played professionally in his early 20’s and played to a high level after having a successful amateur career, which included winning two County Championships and the British Boys plate. As a pro, Kyle featured on the EuroPro and Challenge Tour.

Kyle still loves playing the game but now strives to help other golfers reach their goals to ultimately improve their enjoyment of the game.

Kyle is a keen sportsman, a family man to three kids and loving husband. Is a Norwich City football supporter and enjoys watching the golf. His favourite golfer of all time is Tiger Woods. When Kyle has free time he enjoys socialising with friends.
